Calvin R. Johnson

Calvin R. Johnson age 77 of Cavalier, ND, died on Friday, September 30, 2005, at the Pembina County Memorial Hospital, Cavalier, ND. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, October 5, 2005, at 2:00 p.m. at the Jensen-Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Visitation for one hour before the time of services.
Calvin R. Johnson was born January 25, 1928, in Lang, Saskatchewan, Canada to Joseph and Marjorie (Thompson) Johnson. He was raised in Larimore, ND. In 1945 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for three years. In 1949, he moved to South Dakota.
On August 20, 1949, he married Marjorie "Midge" Miller at Martin, SD. They moved to Grand Forks where he worked as a truck driver for Hart Motor Express, which later became B.N.
Transport. He retired in 1984. In 1992, he suffered a brain aneurysm and has been in the Wedgewood Manor, Cavalier for the past 12 years.
Calvin was a member of the American Legion, V.F.W. and the Eagles
He is survived by his wife Midge , daughter, Bobbi (Jerry) Hruby, and grandson, Troy Hruby, all of Cavalier, ND, sisters, Millie (John) Nelson, N. Sioux City, SD, Beverly Greenberg, Muriel Farester, and Eleanor Johnson, all of Grand Forks, ND, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Vicki Jo, one brother and five sisters.
