Bruce H. Pleasance

     Bruce H. Pleasance, 70, of St. Cloud, MN and formerly of Cavalier, ND passed away January 30, 2020 at the St. Cloud VA Health Care Center, St. Cloud, MN, after several bouts with pneumonia.

     Bruce Harlan Pleasance was born December 6, 1949 to Frank and Belle Pleasance of Akra Township. Bruce attended Cavalier High School graduating in 1969. In 1970, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and received his honorable discharge in 1971. Shortly there after he received the diagnosis of mental illness and spent the remainder of his life in the care of the VA Hospital.

     He is survived by his sisters: Christine Mena, Miami, FL, Helen Vagle, Minneapolis, MN, Carol Frayer, Caliente, CA, and Merida Woods, Minneapolis, MN; and brothers: James Pleasance, Seattle, WA, and William “Bill” Pleasance, Seattle, WA.

     Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Dale Pleasance; and uncle, Fred Pleasance.

  A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial will be held in the Peter’s Cemetery in Akra Township.
