Brenda Anne Spangelo, 62, of Cavalier, ND affectionately known to family as “Auntie Boo” died Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Wedgewood Manor under the care of Hospice.

Funeral service will be held at Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, on Saturday August 18 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bill Crosby, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Cavalier Cemetery beside her beloved niece Stephanie.

Brenda was born November 2, 1955 to Wayne and Beverly (Unke) Spangelo in Cavalier. She was raised on the family farm and attended Hensel and Cavalier Public Schools, graduating from Cavalier, ND. She attended some college before moving back to the farm and then into Cavalier where she lived with her brother, Warren, for many years. She had worked for the Green Thumb program for a few years and then remained active caring for some of her nieces and nephews where needed, bartending for her brother, Jerry, occasionally babysitting, doing odd chores and caring for her numerous beloved cats.

Brenda is survived by her siblings: Audrey (Larry) Ouhl of Elgin, ND; Faye Dunnigan of Grand Forks, Jim (Mel) Spangelo of Fargo; Jeff (Kristi) Spangelo of Cavalier: Jerry (LeeAnn) Spangelo of Cavalier; Bob (Cathy) Spangelo of Mandan, ND and Kevin (Amy) Spangelo of Cedar Rapids, IA and many nieces and nephews. Others surviving her include Stepmother, Patricia Schuh, Grand Forks, ND; Aunts: Linda (Tom) Osowski of Minto, ND; Lois Gray of the Twin Cities; Shelly (Mike) Sonetz of Frenchtown, MT; and numerous cousins. Her brother, Warren, her niece Stephanie, her parents and grandparents preceded her in death.
