Betty J. Shambaugh

Betty J. Shambaugh, 81, of Cavalier, ND passed away Sunday, December 21, 2014, at her home. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the Cavalier Presbyterian Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held Friday, December 26th from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Askew Funeral Home, Cavalier, ND. Burial will be held in the Cavalier Cemetery.
Betty Jane Berens was born July 2, 1933, to Arthur and Edith (Freschette) Berens. She grew up in Cavalier and graduated from Cavalier High School. On March 24, 1953, she married Dallas F. Shambaugh at Cavalier, ND. Betty worked at various jobs in the Cavalier area. After graduating from Lake Region College in Devils Lake with a L.P.N. Degree, she nursed at Wedgwood Manor in Cavalier and for Migrant Health Services in Grafton, ND until her retirement in December of 2008.
Survivors include her daughters: Cindy Keney, Fargo, ND and Jane (Jeff) Stevenson, Cavalier, ND; grandchildren: Jennifer Keney, Bozeman, MT; Shauna and Jason (Sara) Stevenson, all of Cavalier; great-grandchildren: Dylon Stevenson; James and Jeffrey Stevenson, all of Cavalier.
Preceding her in death were her parents; sister, Roberta Grumbo; and husband, Dallas on October 9, 2013.
