Betty Northagen

Betty (Johnson) Northagen, 77, of Walhalla, ND passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Sunday, October 23, 2022. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, October 28, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at the St. Boniface Catholic Church in Walhalla. Visitation will be held for one hour before the time of the service at the church.

Betty was born on July 10th, 1945 to Michael (Jack) and Rose Johnson in Walhalla, ND. She resided a short time in Grand Forks, ND early on, but moved back home to Walhalla, ND. She was employed by Dunnigan Farms, McDonald's Bar, and eventually retired from the Pembilier Nursing Home in Walhalla.

Betty enjoyed being with her family, playing poker, going to the casino, camping, attending concerts, and spending time with the many friends she made along the way.  

 She was known as "Grandma Betty" to many that loved her. 

On July 12, 1975, Betty married Lloyd Northagen. 

She is survived by her children: Lisa (Jeff) Vetter Bismarck, ND, Mitch Johnson, Tennessee, Susan Lucier, Washington, and Sandra Johnson Walhalla ND; siblings Tudy Goulet, Bismarck, Myrna (Leon) Meidinger, Bismarck, Michael (Kim) Johnson, Walhalla, Linda (Robert) Olgeirson, Edinburg, Dale (Terri) Johnson, Langdon, and Wendy (Don) Gibney, Walhalla; grandchildren: Guy Danielson, Mandan, Tony (Nicole) Danielson, Grand Forks, ND,  Wade (Amanda) Danielson, Argyle MN,  Mahailee (Ethan) Hendrix , Alabama , Kelli Lucier-Sauls (Jay), Washington; great grandchildren: Wyatt Brusseau, Devin Danielson, Aila, Bella, & Cullen Danielson, Karjmella, Warner and Jasper Danielson, Jared Hendrix, Kameron Lucier-Sauls and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Jack & Rose, her sister Carol, and grandson Troy.
