Bette M. Bata

Bette M. Bata, 90, of Langdon, ND, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon with her family by her side.

Bette Margaret Bowles was born December 11, 1928, to Walter and Ada (Magnus) in Langdon, ND. She grew up and attended school in the Osnabrock area. She went to high school in Langdon and received her teaching degree in Valley City, ND. For two years, she taught at rural schools. On June 7, 1948, she married Frank �Bud’ Bata of Langdon. They made their home on the farm until moving to Langdon in 1965. Bette was employed at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital for many years. She belonged to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and taught CCD, was an active member of Catholic Daughters, past president of the Langdon Eagles Auxiliary, and Homemakers. She and Bud loved to dance and play cards. Bette was in many different bridge clubs. Bette also loved spending time with her family! She and Bud enjoyed wintering in Arizona for over 20 years.

Surviving Bette are her sons: Brad (Yvonne) of Langdon, Gary (Regina) of Frederick, CO, and David of Centennial, CO ; six grandchildren: Brian (Jess ) Bata, Bridget ( Ricky) Schaan, Tyler (Jacy)Bata, Kyle, Hayden, and Devon Bata; great-grandchildren: Luke, Logan, Reagan, Trey, and Griffey; brothers: Jerry (Connie) Bowles and Ronald (Peggy) Bowles; sisters: Doris Christianson, Lynetta (Dennis) Karlstad, Pamela Breyen, and Susan (Lawrence) Wild; and sister-in-law Sally Bowles along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bud and siblings: Muriel (Ray) Schrader, James (Eunice) Bowles, and Richard Bowles.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon, ND. Burial will be held at Calvary Cemetery in Langdon, ND.
