Anne M. Collins

Anne M. Collins, 78, of Cavalier, ND passed away Tuesday, March 7, 2017, at her home under the care of hospice. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 10, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the United Lutheran Church, Cavalier, ND. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour before the time of services. Burial will be held in the Cavalier Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
Anne was born November 18, 1938, at Walhalla, ND to Clarence and Flora (Martineau) Howell. She grew up on the family farm near Leroy, ND. In 1957, she graduated from Walhalla High School and then attended Aaker's Business College in Grand Forks, ND. She then married and raised her children at Cavalier.
Things she enjoyed were quilting, sewing, baking, and taking care of her plants.
On July 24, 1982, she married Mark Collins at Hamilton, ND. He survives as do her children: Duane Widme, Cavalier, Jerry Widme (Jane Berg), Pembina, ND, David Widme, Thief River Falls, MN. Judy Widme (Joe Trujillo), Cavalier, Sandy (Bob) Flaten, Park River, ND, Staci (Scott) McLaughlin, Roseville, CA, Mark J. Collins, Brooks, MN, Jennifer (Jeremy) Toso, Plummer, MN; grandchildren: Karissa Widme (Adam Olson) and Camille Widme; Mark V. Smith, Jr and Shane McLaughlin; Ethan Toso and Brendan Toso; great-grandson, Brantley Olson; nieces: Doris Hoffarth, Diane Dunmire, Mary Nordstrom; special friends: Pat and Carol Cook and Little Daisy.
Preceding her in death were her parents; son, Robert Widme; twin grandsons, Christopher and Craig Widme; sisters: Pearl Chaput and Rita Karel; brother, Robert Howell.
