Alden J. Veer

Alden Veer, 80, of Langdon, ND entered his Eternal Haven of rest on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon.

Alden John Veer was born on September 13, 1936 in Langdon, ND to Abe and Helen (Penner) Veer. After graduating from Langdon High School, he served his country with honor while stationed in Germany with the U.S. Army. Alden was joined in marriage to Carol Harveland on June 6, 1964, and they made their home in Langdon.

Al enjoyed farming and working at Craig’s gas station where he greeted each one with a smile and wholesome fellowship. Alden and Carol were blessed with three children: Craig (Brenda) Veer of Langdon, Janelle (Shannon) Bothwell of Bismarck, and Chad (Ryndee) Veer of Northwood along with added blessings of ten grandchildren who were the delight of his life.

Al is survived by his wife, Carol; his children and their spouses; grandchildren: Danielle (Joey) Hansel, Caleb (Jalane), Carlye & Devan Veer, Hayden, Bailey & Boedy Bothwell, Landyn, Alec & Kjeldee Veer; great-grandchildren Rylee, Kamden & Avery; brothers: Ted Veer, Arlie (Betty) Veer, and Ronnie Veer; and sisters Rose Krahn & Eileen Turner along with many special nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother Edwin Veer; brothers-in-law Alvin Krahn & Kindred Turner; sisters-in- law: Doris Veer, Malinda Veer, Valdene Veer & Kathy Veer; and niece Mary Jean Veer.

Funeral services for Alden will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at Emmanuel Evangelical Church in Langdon, ND. Visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. with a 7:00 p.m. Time of Sharing on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the church and for one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
