Albert Luverne Christensen, 67, of Langdon, ND, passed away November 24, 2019, at Towner County Living Center in Cando, ND.
Albert was born April 23, 1952, in Grafton, ND, to Ole and Marjorie (Johnson) Christensen. He attended school in Osnabrock, ND. In high school he played basketball and was in the choir. He graduated from Osnabrock High School in 1970 then went to college in Devils Lake and got a 2 year degree in carpentry. After college he traveled to Jamestown, ND, Arizona, Indiana, and Utah. After moving back from Utah, he farmed with his father, Ole, for several years. When Albert was done with farming, he went back into construction. He worked around North Dakota, Minnesota, Montana, Washington, and Hawaii. Albert was married three times to Sherry Johnson, Susan McLaughlin, and Annette Spanier.
Albert was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also liked bowling, curling and watching his favorite team, the Kansas City Chiefs. He was a member of Scottish Rite, member of the Lebanon Lodge #34, a part of KEM Temple Shriners, the 49ers and Hillbillies. He was the potentate aid to Dale Stauss when he received the Samsar Jewel Award. Albert wanted to especially thank Dick Zettel, Bob Mostad, Jim Salvaggio, Pat Kram, Dale Becker, Rod O'Brien, along with all the other Shriners and friends, for their many years of friendship.
Albert is survived by his children: Tonya Christensen of Edmore, ND, Kirstin Mitzel of Devils Lake, ND, Jared (Elisa) Christensen of Devils Lake, ND; eight grandchildern: Destinae (Fredrick) Burdick, Justice (Bethany Lowery) Mitzel, Kagen Mitzel, Cassandra, Kaylee, Carter & Karly Christensen and Brent (Jessica Johanson) Borstad; great-granddaughter Sierra Mitzel; brothers Dale(Mary)Christensen of Fargo, ND, and Randy Christensen of Hettinger, ND; three nieces and one nephew. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Duane, mother of his children Sherry Christensen; and sister-in-law Jeanie Christensen.
A Masonic service and Time of Remembrance will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2019, at the Masonic building in Langdon, ND, with visitation starting at 1:00 p.m. Fellowship will follow the service at The Hop in Langdon.
